Birthday in Death Valley

Coming back to the mainland US after being abroad for so long was definitely an adjustment! Fortunately, our friends David and Rachel softened the blow by letting us land at their home while we figured things out.

We took interviews as we contemplated how and where we wanted to contribute, and before we knew it we were flying around figuring out where we wanted to live. A highlight of this time was a quick trip to Boulder, where some good buddies we met in Argentina took us out for a day of relaxed backcountry skiing. It was nice to see them again and reminisce on our rad adventures in Patagonia.

It was great to reunite in the snow!

It was the beginning of February and flu season was in full swing. Unfortunately it was Mel’s turn to be sick and we built up some cabin fever getting better in LA. As Mel’s birthday came around we had to escape and so we chose to go somewhere new! We took a two day trip to Death Valley, to enjoy the vastness of the American west.
